Joelle Gueguen was born in France, and studied photography and multimedia at Westminster University in London. After moving to Barcelona in 2005, she started to publish work in a variety of newspapers and magazines, had two solo exhibitions, and participated in a number of group shows. In Barcelona, she also set up a black-and-white analog photography workshop, to provide training for young illegal immigrants from Morocco. Gueguen’s work has appeared in publications in France, UK, Italy, and Spain as well as in Mexico, Thailand, and Morocco. Since 2010, she has been based in Morocco, where she covers social and cultural subjects. Gueguen has recently joined Transterra Media agency.
